We are absolutely honoured and thrilled to share this amazing wedding with you guys! Shona & Scott had the most magical day and the story behind it all is nothing short of a real-life fairytale!
Shona fell in love with the amazing Twintswalo Atlantic venue the moment she experienced the breathtaking surroundings the award-winning boutique lodge offered! Perched on a pebbled beach at the foot of the Table Mountain National Park, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean this gem of a wedding venue will surely make any brides day seem magical!
Her story is so touching, while most brides would like the idea of not having to stress about venue issues once your deposit is paid, Tintswalo, unfortunately, got caught in the Cape’s wild raging fires, which completely devoured the entire lodge. Not the type of call any bride would want to receive! Right?! This bride, however, was immediately reassured that her big day would still take place because the lodge would be back up within months! And they were spot on, the rebirth of the venue was more gorgeous than ever before! And on that note, not only did the venue bare the brunt of the awful flames during that year, the Hout Bay Township close by experienced the same blazing destruction a year before too!
Shona with a heart of gold, decided to give two little girls from the township a chance to feel like princesses for a day as her flower girls. They experienced a mini spa day before the main event too. How amazing is that! Not only was this day about her, but she chose to give back to others in the hope that they would have a magical experience too. Love! Love! Love!
The rather challenging events leading up to the big day seemed all worth it, as their day oozed perfection as if everything had been smooth sailing!
This bride looked as if she walked right off the runway in her elegant lace and opulently beaded low neck design by Berta. This wedding gown is truly breathtaking to behold and could not have been more perfect for the bride – Berta has got to be one of our favourite international designers! Shona’s bridesmaids wore soft low neck white dresses which tied in so well with the elegant theme. The groom and his groomsmen not only looked dashing too but they added a touch of South African flair with their matching socks – such an awesome idea!
Their decor was soft and elegant with hints of yellow in the flower centrepieces accompanied by all-white candles and fairy lights, all lighting up the romantic atmosphere, put together by the venue. The dessert table was visually striking with the prettiest looking treats by Waydes Cakes tying in with the colour palette throughout the reception. The night included lots of bubbly, breathtakingly gorgeous views, traditional African themed dancers as well as fire acts, guests were definitely intrigued and fully entertained!
Moments captured through these images tell a story of a fairytale that came to life! Shona and Scott’s wedding is beyond beautiful and we hope that their day will inspire yours!
