Tishern and Varusha Moodaley share a magical story. From meeting at a UCT freshers bash to a romantic and spontaneous proposal at the majestic and spectacular Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Intrigued by the traditional ritual wedding photos, we managed to speak to Varusha about their big day which took place at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate in Paarl, Western Cape which boasts beautiful Cape Dutch and Victorian Architecture. The venue is nestled between the granite hills of the Paarl Rock Mountains surrounded by tall graceful willow and oak trees. The couple chose to have their traditional Hindu ceremony performed in Tamil, with endless greenery of beautiful vineyards and mountains as a backdrop, which created a majestic ambience!

The couple described the table labels as a journey of their love including all the different locations that meant something to them.

Guests were served snoek pâté as a starter and had the option between 4 mains – garlic and rosemary braised lamb shank, chicken, grilled fish (catch of the day) and ricotta and spinach cannelloni. Dessert was a delicious passion fruit crème brûlée. Happy guests indeed!

Varusha’s traditional wedding dress was a bright and beautiful sari, she chose a dress that reflected her own style which she best described as simple and we definitely think elegant! Varusha and her mom travelled to India to buy their wedding attire, which also served as a great bonding experience for the two of them (This can be much needed when dealing with the wedding planning occasional stress) We can say the trip was well worth it, because her dress was definitely beautiful!

Tishern and Varusha also chose to have a western style reception where she got to wear a beautiful white ball gown styled wedding dress with lace detail accompanied by a veil.

Tishern’s outfit was custom made in India to match the bride, and his suit was tailored by Tiger of Sweden. I think we would all agree that these two looked fantastic in their outfits.

Varusha summarizes their wedding day as perfect. The weather was lovely and the day ran smoothly. Everyone seemed to have an amazing time, as they ended up having an after-party that continued until 5AM the next morning! She does, however, regret not having had a videographer, but feels strongly that memories were made that day that will never be forgotten.

The couple then whisked off to Penang in Malaysia, Kho Samui and lastly Bangkok in Thailand for their honeymoon! Breath-taking scenery, cocktails, and crystal clear waters sound perfect! We would like to thank this beautiful couple for sharing their story with us, and trust that they will have many prosperous years ahead of them!
